Do you suffer from influenza, a cold or toothache? Go see a doctor! You are covered by international health insurance. For information on our policy’s benefits and benefit exclusions, go to our section Benefits.
The easiest way is to use the Air Doctor App for all outpatient treatments. Book a free appointment directly in the app! As part of your insurance cover, you can use the app for up to 12 consultations per insurance year for outpatient treatment for new and unexpected illnesses. For dental treatment, one consultation per year is covered, with a reimbursement of up to €500.
If you do not want to do this, you can also search for a doctor without the app. If necessary, point out the scope of benefits of your insurance to the treating doctor in order to avoid overtreatment. Inform your treating doctor (where applicable) about your policy’s scope of benefits to avoid overtreatment.
After treating you, the doctor will give you an invoice. This invoice must include: name of the treated person, illness, type of individual medical services performed as well as the total treatment costs.
Please submit the invoice to us and use this online form.
Please indicate an bank account to which the reimbursement should be made.
Please note: Laboratory invoices and prescriptions for prescribed medicines can only be reimbursed if we also receive the doctor's invoice (with diagnosis).
If you wish to send us the invoice by post, please use this PDF and send it to:

If you have health issues, please contact our partner Global Excel in Canada – if possible, before seeing a doctor. Their 24-hour German-speaking service will support you in finding a suitable doctor or hospital, explain all billing details, and can organize direct billing with doctors and clinics. You can reach Global Excel 24/7 toll-free in the USA and Canada at +1-877-835-6243.
Please present your insurance certificate to the doctor before the start of any treatment. The certificate provides all necessary information about your coverage and enables direct billing with the doctor or hospital in most cases – so that you usually don’t have to pay in advance.
If you receive an invoice after treatment, please make sure it includes the following details: the name of the patient, the diagnosed illness, the type of medical services provided, and the total treatment costs. Please send this invoice to our office in Canada. Normally, we will then arrange direct payment with the healthcare provider.
Alternatively, you can use the Air Doctor App for acute outpatient treatments. It covers up to 12 consultations per insurance year. For dental treatments, one consultation per year is included, with reimbursement of up to €500.
You can book an available appointment directly in the app – whether it’s with a general practitioner, a hospital, or a specialist. All outpatient consultations can be booked through the app. No upfront payment is necessary: costs will be settled directly with us via Air Doctor as part of your insurance coverage.
